A bases-loaded triple by Jim Norris in the top of the 11th inning snapped a 4-4 tie and lifted the Indians to an 8-4 triumph over the Tigers. Gary Alexander led off with a walk and went to third when Jason Thompson threw Dave Rosello's bunt into center field.

After Alexander was thrown out at the plate on Tom Veryzer's grounder, John Hiller relieved Aurelio Lopez on the mound and yielded a single to Duane Kuiper which loaded the bases. Norris then lined his three-bagger to right center and Mike Hargrove scored Norris with a sacrifice fly. [The Sporting News]
