Scattering four hits, Dave Stieb hurled his first major-league complete game as the Blue Jays thumped the Brewers, 7-1. Roy Howell clouted a solo homer in the first inning and Al Woods hit a bases-empty inside-the-park round-tripper in the second.

A single by Howell and two-run homer by John Mayberry produced another pair of runs in the fourth frame. Rick Cerone doubled home two Jay markers in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
