Pushing across a run in 10th inning, the Mets downed the Dodgers, 4-3. Elliott Maddox began the winning rally with a one-out single and moved to third on a single by Lee Mazzilli, who took second on the throw to third. Richie Hebner received an intentional walk to load the bases and Joel Youngblood bounced into a forceout at home. John Stearns then singled to left to score Mazzilli with the winning run.
