The Blue Jays tagged Jerry Koosman for three runs in the second inning and added a homer by Rick Bosetti in the third to defeat the Twins, 4-2, behind the pitching of rookie Dave Stieb. In the second, Rico Carty doubled and scored when third baseman Mike Cubbage threw wildly on a grounder by Otto Velez.
