The Redbirds scored their first run in the second inning when Keith Hernandez walked, went to third on a single by Dane Iorg and tallied on a groundout by Terry Kennedy. A double by Ken Oberkfell and single by Mike Phillips produced a marker in the seventh inning and the final run came in the eighth on a walk and a double by Hernandez. [The Sporting News]
