The Pirates swept a doubleheader from the slumping Astros, 9-5 and 4-2. In the first game, Willie Stargell put the Bucs ahead, 5-3, in the third inning with a two-run homer. After Houston tied the score, Phil Garner slammed a two-run round-tripper in the sixth to give the Pirates a 7-5 bulge and they added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
