. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Playing in his first game since July 9, Aurelio Rodriguez hit a two-run homer to help the Tigers defeat the White Sox, 4-2. The round-tripper after a pass to John Wockenfuss in the fourth inning tied the score at 2-2.

Ron LeFlore singled to open the fifth and advanced on a wild pitch. Lou Whitaker bunted and when White Sox third baseman Jim Morrison collided with catcher Milt May, LeFlore put on the speed and scored from second base, giving the Tigers their deciding run. [The Sporting News]
