Hurling his first complete game of the year, Jerry Reuss pitched the Dodgers to a 3-1 victory over the Mets. The Dodgers scored twice in the first inning as Davey Lopes singled, took third on a single by Bill Russell and came home on an infield out by Steve Garvey. A two-out single by Dusty Baker plated Russell.

Lopes hit an inside-the-park homer in the sixth inning as Met outfielders Dan Norman and Lee Mazzilli collided while chasing his line drive. [The Sporting News]
