A pinch-hit grand slam by Pat Kelly in the eighth inning rallied the Orioles to a 7-4 decision over the A's. With the score 3-3, the Orioles began the winning uprising with a single by Ken Singleton. Eddie Murray followed with a walk and Dave Hamilton relieved Matt Keough on the hill for the A's.

After a sacrifice bunt by John Lowenstein, Dave Heaverlo took over for Hamilton and walked Doug DeCinces intentionally. Kelly then unloaded his fourth career bases-loaded homer. [The Sporting News]
