The third double of the game by Tony Perez drove home two runs in the ninth inning and lifted the Expos to a 6-5 decision over the Padres. The Padres led, 5-4, when pinch-hitter Tommy Hutton began the Expos' ninth with a single.

Jerry White ran for Hutton and advanced to second on a sacrifice by Warren Cromartie. After Rodney Scott walked, Eric Rasmussen relieved Bob Owchinko on the hill for the Padres. Perez then lined his double to plate the tying and winning runs. [The Sporting News]
