A triple by Derrel Thomas for his third RBI of the game snapped a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning and lifted the Dodgers to a 6-5 victory over the Astros, extending their winning streak to five games. Rookie reliever Joe Beckwith got credit for his first major league victory.

Thomas drove in Joe Ferguson with his triple and scored himself on the play when Astro shortstop Craig Reynolds mishandled the relay throw from the outfield. Thomas drove in two runs with a single and two more scored on an error by Astro left fielder Jose Cruz in the second. [The Sporting News]
