. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Staked to a nine-run lead after just two innings, Steve Comer had an easy time pitching the Rangers to an 11-2 victory over the Red Sox. Pat Putnam batted in two runs with a double in the first inning. The Rangers then piled up five runs in the second with doubles by Buddy Bell, Al Oliver and Richie Zisk among their hits. Comer lost his bid for a shutout when Bob Watson homered with a man on base in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
