Dave Kingman hit his 31st and 32nd homers of the season and knocked in three of the Cubs' runs in a 4-2 victory over the Mets. After a solo swat by Kingman in the second inning, the Mets tied the score in the sixth, but Ivan DeJesus put the Cubs ahead again with a run-scoring double in the eighth. Kingman then provided the deciding margin, hitting his second homer of the game with a man on base in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
