Rob Wilfong hit a homer and Ken Landreaux figured in the Twins' two other runs to account for a 3-1 victory over the Angels. Don Baylor homered for the Angels' run in the fourth inning. Wilfong hit his matching blow in the sixth.

Landreaux reached second on a two-base error by Angels' center fielder Dan Ford in the seventh and scored the tie-breaking tally on a single by Glenn Adams.
