Extending their winning streak to eight games, the Indians prevailed over the Red Sox, 6-5. The score was 4-4 in the eighth inning when Gary Alexander snapped the tie with a solo homer. The Tribe added an insurance marker later in the frame on a sacrifice fly by Bobby Bonds. Earlier in the game, Bonds capped a four-run fourth inning with a two-run round-tripper.
