. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Completing his fifth game in his last eight starts, Dave Frost pitched the Angels to an 8-1 decision over the Mariners. The Angels were blanked for the first five innings before Don Baylor led off the sixth with a double. Brian Downing walked and both runners advanced on a wild pitch.

Byron McLaughlin relieved starter Rob Dressler for the Mariners and Bobby Grich stroked a single to center, giving the Angels a 2-1 lead. The Angels broke the game open with five runs in the seventh, highlighted by a run-scoring double by Dan Ford and consecutive RBI singles by Willie Aikens, Downing, Rick Miller and Grich. Ford blasted a solo homer in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
