Used as a designated hitter because of his injured thumb, George Brett collected three hits, drove in two runs and scored the game-winner as the Royals defeated the Blue Jays, 4-3. Brett hit an RBI single in the first inning and then broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth with a double. Darrell Porter then followed with a run-scoring single to insure the Royals' three-game sweep of the Jays. [The Sporting News]
