The Dodgers rolled to an 8-1 thrashing of the Giants, who suffered their fifth straight defeat. A three-run homer by Steve Garvey highlighted a four-run first inning and a two-run single by Davey Lopes keyed a three-run fourth inning. Lopes added a solo homer in the sixth.
