Driving in all of his team's runs, Bobby Murcer led the Yankees to a 5-4 triumph over the Orioles. With the Yankees behind, 4-0, in the seventh inning, Murcer unloaded a three-run homer.

Bucky Dent opened the Yankee ninth with a walk and went to third when Willie Randolph's sacrifice bunt was thrown into right field by Bird pitcher Tippy Martinez. Randolph reached second on the play. Murcer then followed with a shot into the left field corner that scored the tying and winning runs. [The Sporting News]
