Pushing across a run in the top of the 11th inning, the Braves edged the Reds, 3-2. Thr winning surge developed when Jerry Royster stroked a two-out single. After stealing second, Royster scored on a single by Rowland Office. The Braves had tied the contest in the ninth on a single by Pepe Frias, infield safety by pinch-hitter Mike Lum, error by Red second baseman Joe Morgan and sacrifice fly by Royster.
