. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Ending a three-game losing streak, the Twins downed the Yankees, 5-1, as Geoff Zahn and Mike Marshall combined on a five-hitter. The Twins went ahead with two runs in the sixth inning. Rob Wilfong doubled and scored on a single by Ken Landreaux. After a double by Glenn Adams and walk to Butch Wynegar loaded the bases, Landreaux scored on an infield out by Hosken Powell.

The Twins added their other runs in the eighth on a single by Wynegar, a walk and doubles by Ron Jackson and John Castino. Fred Stanley hit a homer, only the seventh of his seven-year major league career, for the Yankees' run. [The Sporting News]
