Notching his 16th victory, Jerry Koosman pitched the Twins to a 7-2 decision over the Red Sox. A double by Ron Jackson staked the Twins to a 2-1 lead in the third inning and the Twins scored twice more in the fifth on consecutive singles by Roy Smalley, Jackson and Jose Morales and a grounder by Hosken Powell.
