A three-run homer by Jack Clark broke a tie in the sixth inning and carried the Giants to a 6-1 triumph over the Pirates. Dennis Littlejohn connected for a two-run round-tripper in the ninth, his first major league homer.

Bob Knepper singled, stopped at third on a double by Bill North and scored to knot the count at 1-1 when Pirate third baseman Bill Madlock booted a grounder by Joe Strain. On Bruce Kison's next pitch, Clark clouted his homer. [The Sporting News]
