After the Mets completed their 5-0 victory by getting the final out of the protested game of the previous night, the Astros posted a 3-1 triumph in the regularly-scheduled contest. Jeff Leonard, the key figure in the confusing situation the previous night, stroked a two-run single in the ninth inning after Jose Cruz had homered for the Astros first run in the second.
