Phil Niekro leveled his record at 17-17 as the Braves captured a 6-4 decision over the Mets. Dale Murphy gave the Braves a 1-0 lead in the first inning with his 16th homer of the season and the Braves added two more runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Bruce Benedict and sacrifice fly by Niekro.
