The Mets tumbled to their seventh straight defeat, losing to the Braves, 5-4. Three Met errors led to a run in the second inning and singles by Jerry Royster, Dale Murphy and Jeff Burroughs produced another in the third.

The Braves tallied twice in the sixth, one run coming on a triple by Rowland Office and the other on a single by Pepe Frias. What proved to be the Braves' winning marker came in the seventh on a triple by Royster and groundout by Burroughs. [The Sporting News]
