A three-run homer by Ellis Valentine triggered the Expos to a 5-3 triumph over the Astros. The Expos trailed, 2-1, in the sixth inning, when Tony Perez stroked a two-out single and went to second on a passed ball.

After a walk to Gary Carter, Valentine unloaded his 21st circuit swat of the season. The Expos added a run in the seventh on consecutive singles by Warren Cromartie, Dave Cash and Andre Dawson. Larry Parrish also homered for the Expos. [The Sporting News]
