Recording his seventh complete game of the season, rookie John Fulgham permitted only five hits as the Cardinals whipped the Giants, 5-1. The Redbirds picked up their first run in the second inning on singles by Tony Scott and Ken Reitz and an infield out by Ken Oberkfel,l and made it 2-0 in the fourth on a homer by George Hendrick.
