Two homers by Jerry Morales paced the Tigers to an 8-7 decision over the A's. His first round-tripper came with a mate aboard in the fifth inning and put the Tigers ahead, 6-5.

After the A's tied the game in the eighth, Morales led off the bottom of the frame with another circuit clout. The Tigers then added what proved to be their winning run on a triple by Jason Thompson and single by Lynn Jones. [The Sporting News]
