Mike Parrott broke the Mariners' club record for victories with his 13th of the season, beating the Blue Jays, 8-2. The Mariners tallied three times in the fifth inning on a walk, double by Larry Cox, triple by Mario Mendoza and sacrifice fly by Julio Cruz.

They added four runs in the sixth on run-scoring singles by Mendoza, Ruppert Jones and Tom Paciorek and a throwing error by third baseman Roy Howell. The Mariners' former win mark was 12 by Glenn Abbott in 1977. [The Sporting News]
