The Expos extended their winning streak to a club-record-tying eight games by defeating the Mets, 5-1. The Expos scored three times in the fifth inning. After Gary Carter doubled and Ellis Valentine singled, Larry Parrish and Chris Speier hit run-scoring singles and Dave Cash added a sacrifice fly.
