Although striking out only five, Nolan Ryan tossed a four-hitter and pitched the Angels to a 6-3 victory over the Brewers. Gorman Thomas hit his 39th homer of the season for the Brewers.

With the score tied, 3-3, in the seventh, Carney Lansford singled and Dan Ford followed with his 21st homer to send Bill Travers down to defeat. Don Baylor then singled, stole second and scored the final run on a single by Bobby Grich. [The Sporting News]
