. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Overcoming an eight-run deficit, the Indians rallied to gain a 9-8 victory, although the Blue Jays had a grand-slam homer by Rico Carty and also pulled off a triple play. Carty's clout in the fifth inning capped a six-run outburst by the Blue Jays, who added a pair of tallies in the sixth.

The Indians, after picking up three runs, loaded the bases in the eighth, but Ted Cox grounded to third baseman Roy Howell, who stepped on the bag to start the triple killing. Howell threw to Luis Gomez for a forceout at second and the relay to John Mayberry at first nipped Cox for the third out.

But the Blue Jays were unable to halt the Indians in the ninth. Toby Harrah led off with a homer and, batting for the second time, capped the six-run rally with a single that drove in the winning marker. [The Sporting News]
