. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A ninth-inning throwing error by shortstop Alfredo Griffin allowed Mike Hargrove to score the winning run in the Indians' 5-4 victory over the the Blue Jays. After the Indians tied the see-saw affair at 4-4 in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Rick Manning, Hargrove opened the ninth with a walk and Manning followed with a sharp single to right. Griffin cut off the throw to third but then threw wildly to first in an attempt to trap Manning. [The Sporting News]
