A grand-slam homer by Bobby Bonds capped a five-run ninth inning that gave the Indians a 14-10 victory over the Blue Jays. Ron Hassey opened the ninth with a pinch-single and was replaced by pinch-runner Dell Alston, who took second on a sacrifice by Dave Rosello.

Cliff Johnson then walked and was replaced by pinch-runner Wayne Cage. A single by Mike Hargrove drove home the tying run and after Rick Manning was issued an intentional pass, Bonds hit losing pitcher Tom Buskey's first serve over the left field fence. [The Sporting News]
