Helped by two errors, the Blue Jays prevailed over the Indians, 8-2. The Jays trailed, 2-1, in the fourth inning, when Roy Howell reached first on an error by Tribe second baseman Dave Rosello, Tony Solaita was safe on a fielder's choice and John Mayberry singled to load the bases. A single by Rick Bosetti scored Howell and a single by Al Woods plated Solaita.

A second error by Rosello on a grounder by Tim Johnson permitted Mayberry and Bosetti to come home. Howell and Mayberry cracked solo homers in the fifth frame. [The Sporting News]
