A five-run uprising in the fifth inning triggered the Twins to a 10-3 pasting of the White Sox. Willie Norwood opened the Twins' fifth with a walk and Ken Landreaux was safe when Sox second baseman Jim Morrison misplayed his grounder.

Butch Wynegar and John Castino then walked to force in Norwood and a wild pitch allowed Landreaux to score. A triple by Bombo Rivera plated two tallies and a sacrifice fly by Roy Smalley capped the inning. [The Sporting News]
