Darrell Evans drove in one run and scored another to spark the Giants to a 3-1 triumph over the Reds. Evans stroked a run-scoring single in the first inning and then singled and scored on a single by Johnnie LeMaster in the sixth. The Giants registered their other run in the third when Bill North singled, went from first to third on an infield out and came home on a single by Mike Ivie. The Reds had a homer by Johnny Bench.
