Pushing across pair of runs in the 10th inning, the Phillies downed the Cardinals, 5-3. Manny Trillo drilled a leadoff double and moved to third on a safe bunt by Bake McBride. One out later, a sacrifice fly by Greg Gross scored Trillo with the tie-breaking run. McBride took second on the throw to the plate and scored an insurance marker on a single by Garry Maddox.
