. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Blue Jays pulled off their second triple play of the month in the course of defeating the Yankees, 3-2, and snapping Ron Guidry's 11-game winning streak. In the seventh inning, the Yankees put men on first and second with singles by Chris Chambliss and Roy Staiger. Damaso Garcia then lined sharply to second baseman Dave McKay, who threw to first to double Staiger. First baseman Craig Kusick's relay to shortstop Alfredo Griffin caught Chambliss off base for the third out.

The Blue Jays previously had a triple play against the Indians September 7. The Blue Jays scored all their runs in the first on a single by Bob Bailor, two walks, a single by Rick Bosetti and wild throw by center fielder Bobby Brown. [The Sporting News]
