The tie-breaking run scored on a wild pitch as the Rangers grabbed a 5-3 decision over the A's. With the score tied, 3-3, in the seventh inning, Nelson Norman singled and was forced by Mickey Rivers. An errant pickoff throw allowed Rivers to advance to third and he raced home on a wild pitch. [The Sporting News]
