. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Carlton Fisk led off the ninth inning with the Red Sox' third homer of the game to beat the Blue Jays, 6-5. Butch Hobson hit a two-run blow in the seventh to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-1, but the Blue Jays erupted for four runs in the eighth, two scoring on a boundary belt by Rick Bosetti.

The Red Sox came back with the tying pair in their half on a double by Ted Sizemore and circuit clout by Fred Lynn. The homer was Lynn's 28th in Fenway Park, breaking Carl Yastrzemski's 1967 record for most round-trippers by a lefthanded hitter in Boston. [The Sporting News]
