Closing the season with their sixth straight victory, the Mets prevailed over the Cardinals, 4-2. With the score tied in the ninth inning, Alex Trevino singled, stole second and scored on a single by Elliott Maddox. Maddox, moving to second on the throw home, was able to score when Card catcher Terry Kennedy threw wildly to second.
