In an awesome display of power, the Brewers belted two grand-slam homers in one inning, tying the major league record, while slaughtering the Red Sox, 18-1. Robin Yount opened the second inning with a single, Buck Martinez walked, Paul Molitor singled to load the bases and Cecil Cooper emptied them with a drive into the center field bleachers, knocking out Mike Torrez.

Chuck Rainey relieved and gave up a pass to Larry Hisle, double by Ben Oglivie and walk to Sixto Lezcano, filling the sacks again and setting the stage for a slam by Don Money. Yount followed with a solo swat to make it a nine-run inning. [The Sporting News]
