Dave Winfield drove in four runs, including two with a single in the third inning and two more with his first homer of the season in the fifth, to account for all of the Padres' scoring in a 4-2 victory over the Giants. John Curtis, who pitched for the Giants last year before becoming a free agent and signing with the Padres, blanked his former club for seven innings before giving up two runs in the eighth.
