Carlton Fisk's homer in the 11th inning lifted the Red Sox to a 5-4 decision over the Tigers. With the score 4-4, Fisk slammed Aurelio Lopez' first pitch into the left field screen. The Tigers had tied the game in the seventh on a single by Champ Summers. The victory was the fourth straight for the Bosox while the Tigers suffered their sixth straight defeat.
