A three-run homer by Dave Parker climaxed a five-run second inning that carried the Pirates to a 6-3 victory over the Cardinals. The first two tallies were driven in on singles by Phil Garner and Tim Foli before Parker's clout. The Cards loaded the bases with one out in the ninth inning, but Kent Tekulve struck out Tommy Herr and got Keith Hernandez to bounce into a forceout. [The Sporting News]
