Two-run homers in the first inning by Reggie Smith and Ron Cey sparked the Dodgers to a 4-3 victory over the Giants. Smith's round-tripper followed a single by Rudy Law and, after Steve Garvey doubled, Cey drilled a ball into the left-center field seats.
