Driving in four runs with a homer, single and grounder, Lamar Johnson paced the White Sox to a 9-3 triumph over the Red Sox. The first baseman stroked an RBI single in the first inning and two-run round-tripper in the third.

With the game tied, 3-3, in the seventh and with runners on first and third, Johnson's grounder to third eluded Butch Hobson to give the White Sox a 4-3 edge. One out later, Hobson booted Jim Morrison's grounder, permitting another run to score. The White Sox added three more runs in the eighth, two on a double by Alan Bannister and one on a single by Bruce Kimm. [The Sporting News]
