Although Larry Parrish hit three homers and drove in seven runs, the Expos still lost to the Braves, 8-7, in 11 innings. Parrish connected with two men on base in the first inning and with one aboard in the fourth and ninth, marking the third time in his career that he had hit three homers in one game. The Braves, who got three RBIs from Luis Gomez, won in the 11th when Jerry Royster walked, Larvell Blanks sacrificed and, after a pass to Dale Murphy, Chris Chambliss hit a ground-rule double to left-center.
